Former Representative given jail time for sex charge conviction | Crime
CAMDEN, AL (WSFA) - Former State Representative and Wilcox Central Principal James Thomas was sentenced to jail time today after he was convicted of having sexual contact with one of his students.
Thomas was convicted of having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19 in early November. Today Thomas was sentenced to spend 12 months in the Wilcox County Jail.
As part of the conviction Thomas must register as a sex offender. He must also pay court costs and assessment fees associated with his trial.
